Time to Renew Your Contract?
Whether you're an experienced contractor or new to the field, navigating contract renewals can feel daunting. The good news is; you are not alone—we've compiled some practical tips to help you handle the negotiations smoothly and confidently.
Clearly communicate intentions during placement and keep an open dialogue.
Regular communication builds trust and alignment for discussing your contract renewal. Let us know about any concerns or challenges so we can address them with the client and find solutions together.
Review your contract terms and ask for the RFQ number
Extensions may not be offered; if unavailable or utilised, you need to reapply. Talk to your supervisor or team lead 3-4 months before your contract ends about role release and get the RFQ number for your consultant. We'll track your role's release and move forward with your application.
Renewals take time, please be patient and trust the process
Waiting for decisions can draw out the renewal process. Avoid the temptation of pursuing other opportunities or impulsive decisions. Staying focused on negotiations demonstrates professionalism, positively impacting outcomes. Rest assured; your consultant is working hard to achieve the best outcome for you.
Highlight Your Achievements and regularly update these records.
Maintain a work portfolio, save positive feedback, and track milestones. Use it for updating your resume and LinkedIn, as well as for personal reflection. Documenting achievements boosts your professional worth, and helps consultants advocate for you during renewals.
Adapting to Change: Exploring Next Steps if necessary
Client needs may change, and your role may not be renewed or return to the market. While this can be disappointing, it's part of the process. If this happens, we can regroup and focus on helping you find your next role. We are committed to helping you throughout your career.
