Our client advises Army on its digital network integration efforts to maximise interoperability across Land, Joint and Coalition interface boundaries and to meet critical information exchange requirements. The intent is to ensure that investments are integrated to maximise the operational functions of individual projects within the Operating System.
About the role/ Experience required:
Our client is seeking an Engineering Manager with experience in Engineering or Software projects within the context of Defence. You are expected to manage the Design Standards Engineering program of work by adhering to the Engineering Management Plan and associated program schedule. You will generate progress reports, advise the SO2 Design of the related project technical risks and recommend options to resolve technical issues.
Fulltime on-site facilities are made available by Defence for this position. The preference is for daily attendance at the LNIC.
Some interstate travel may be required to support project stakeholder acquisition and sustainment activities, working groups, as well as field trials or exercises. International travel may be required to support coalition engagement priorities and exercises. These events will be forecasted.

Key duties and responsibilities
- Establish and maintain the Standards Management Engineering Management Plan (EMP) and associated governance and controls in accordance with the Engineering Management System (EMS).
- Work with the Project Manager to manage work with regard the EMP and associated EMS compliance.
- Ensure compliance to the EMP and quality of output artefacts.
- Represent Standards Management to the Engineering Review Board and Configuration Control Board as required.
- Ensure Configuration Management within the Standards Management Program.
- Conduct technical reviews of and approval of engineering designs, documents and specifications.
- Ensure quality control of all Standards Program outputs in accordance with the EMS.
- Liaise with the Design Frame Engineering Manager on all aspects of compliance with the EMS and associated governing forums.
- Support external to technical engagements as required.
- Engage with Technical workforce to support the broader engineering processes.
- Engage with external engineering and technical stakeholders to understand technology solutions.
The successful candidate:
- Has at least 8 years Industry experience in Engineering Management
