Our private client has a requirement for a Senior Project Manager who will ill be responsible for managing the risk, quality, and progress of a medium sized, complex ICT project to organisational standards, ensuring it is completed on time, on budget, to quality standards, and within agreed scope.
The Project Manager will be leading a high performing technical workforce and management team of approximately 30 personnel to deliver a complex system using modern software engineering principles.
Skills and Knowledge:
1. Experience effectively managing project and contract change controls.
2. Experience leading strong quality management processes to ensure scope is delivered with planned effort on schedule.
3. Strong project financial management experience, including a strong understanding of Estimate At Complete and other project financial performance processes.
4. Experience working with tools such as Microsoft Project, Atlassian (Jira and others).
Major Responsibilities:
1. Manage and report project costs, schedules, and quality by overseeing project deliverables using Earned Value Management principles. Ensures schedule and budget are met. Identifies need for changes and revises within established guidelines/policies as appropriate.
2. Performs ongoing review of project status; identifies project risks. Develops, recommends, and implements risk mitigation solutions as approved and as appropriate.
3. Interfaces with team members and stakeholders to anticipate and manage changes to projects such as but not limited to, technical requirements, business requirements and schedule. Determines when additional resources are needed and implements same.
Location: The role is based in Canberra ACT.
Contract terms: 12 or up to 24 months from commencement date
SFIA level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 6.
Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred, however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered.
