Key duties and responsibilities
This role offers an experienced SAP ABAP Development Specialist the chance to contribute to critical SAP implementation projects. Working as part of a project team, the successful candidate will use their extensive industry knowledge, technical expertise, and best practices to deliver key development activities. Responsibilities include:
- Leading end-to-end SAP ABAP development for SAP ECC6 and SAP Cloud Platform Programming Models.
- Managing third-party dependencies related to SAP developments.
- Facilitating an agile development team using the Scrum framework.
- Collaborating with Functional Analysts and end users to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
- Providing knowledge transfer to APS personnel to support ongoing system management and skill development.
- Reporting to the Project Manager as required to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Extensive experience in end-to-end SAP ABAP development, with strong expertise in custom development across HR/Payroll, Financials, and Procurement.
- Proficiency in ABAP skills, including Data Dictionary, User Exits (CMOD/SMOD/Enhancement Points), debugging, OSS Note application through SNOTE, WebDynpro, Object-Oriented (OO) Coding, ALV Reporting, SMARTFORMS, SAPSCRIPT, and SAP Workflow.
- Strong analytical skills to assist in the analysis and application of Support Packs (SPAU).
- Experience with the creation and maintenance of interfaces, specifically using RFC calls.
- Demonstrated ability to build, manage, and foster a team-oriented environment.
- Over 10 years of experience in the SAP System Development Lifecycle, specifically within HR, Financials, and Procurement processes.
Additional desirable skills and capabilities include: - Public sector experience and working within multicultural team environments.
- Experience working on the Parliamentary Expenses Management System.
- Knowledge of SAP Cloud Platform Programming Models and SAP S/4HANA development.
- Familiarity with UI5 and Fiori App design and development.
- Ability to transfer knowledge to APS personnel.
