The Role:
As a Penetration Tester, you will be part of Cyber Security team and lead penetration testing for various capabilities. Your role will involve working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders ensuring that solutions are tested thoroughly and able to meet the evolving security needs.
• Lead and coordinate the entire process of penetration testing. Including liaising with project teams to scope and write detailed penetration test plans.
• Undertake test execution, across a variety of environments, applications, cloud services, and devices, to identify vulnerabilities.
• Carry out complex security assessments that incorporate advanced techniques and simulate real-world cyber-attacks to assess system resilience.
• Build and nurture strong partnerships with stakeholders.
• Communicate complex security insights in a digestible and actionable format.
• Create and maintain threat models to evaluate and prioritise potential attack vectors, helping to identify high-priority vulnerabilities in the system.
• Innovate and improve internal processes by developing new tools, frameworks, and methodologies that streamline testing and increase efficiency across the team.
• Knowledge share and foster a culture of collaboration, skill development, and continuous improvement within the team and support vulnerability management, threat hunt activities, and incident response as required.
Skills and Experience Required:
• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in field of expertise
• Formal penetration testing training or certifications.
• Demonstrated experience with or knowledge of PSPF, ISM and Essential Eight.
• Demonstrated engagement skills, including ability to lead complex technical discussions to reach common understanding and agreement from a broad range of technical specialists.
• Excellent communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to senior leaders.
Location and Contract Term: This role is based in Canberra. 12 month contract with 2 x 12-month extension options pending budget and delegate approval.
Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens. A NV1 (minimum requirement) is required for this role.
