The Role:
We are seeking motivated, experienced IT Performance Test Leads to join our team.
As an IT Performance Test Lead, you will lead the design, documenting, running and analysis of appropriate performance tests across multiple applications to identify areas for improvement, in line with the Departments IT Program of Work.
You will support the production of all performance-related documents, test strategies and plans, closure memos and executive updates. You will also provide high-level technical, operational, and procedural advice.
You will communicate effectively across a range of media types, employing a variety of styles to appeal to different audiences. You will understand and embrace the agency's various ways of working, support a culture of continuous improvement and be agile in your approach to collaboration and delivery of services.
Skills and Experience Required:
• Provide leadership and direction to others and manage and report on individual and overall team performance
• Develop performance test strategies and plans to meet application performance testing requirements and coordinate the delivery of a performance test project phase, in coordination with business (NFRs), architects and other teams
• Identify and report on technical issues or risks and collaborate on their resolution
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders establishing, maintaining effective, influential networks and represent the Department in various forums to convey technical or business information
• Plan and design strategies to effectively and accurately performance test the technical aspects of integration services components, products and releases
• Construct and document processes and procedures for the undertaking of performance testing activities
• Understand the strategic direction of the Department and convey to staff through knowledge transfer and mentoring
• Encourage and promote quality excellence within the team, ensure that work practices are effective and consistent, and that best practice is identified and shared; undertake quality assurance activities
• Select the appropriate resources to achieve quality business and service delivery outcomes and performance objectives, tracking the progress of testing against planned schedule
• Adhere to the Departments system development methodologies in all performance test activities
• Accountable for delivering consistent and high quality performance testing services
• Work with technical teams/product owners and reviews the requirements and identifies the performance testing scope.
• Ability to identify potential points of failure, areas for improvement, and identifying pain points and bottlenecks.
• Makes recommendations to the Test Director in regards to process changes and drives implementation, based on the needs of the business and product direction.
• Assist test automation developers in creating and maintaining automated test scripts.
• Ability to train team and assist the team in removing any obstacles during execution
• Experienced in Web API testing and mobile app testing
• Maintain knowledge and develop own skills to ensure continuous improvement and professional development
Location and Contract Term: This role is based in Canberra or Brisbane . 12 month contract with 2 x 12-month extension options pending budget and delegate approval.
Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens. A Baseline security clearance is required.
