We have an opportunity with a leading Engineering Consultancy firm who are looking for a Radio Communications Technician. Our client is after skilled professionals to join their growing team, focusing on the maintenance and repair of communication and telemetry equipment.
This role requires a strong understanding of technology and its ever-evolving nature. This includes staying up-to-date with advancements in the industry, as well as continuously learning about new systems and equipment.

Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting scheduled inspections, servicing, adjustments, troubleshooting, and timely repairs.
- Providing reliable and accurate expertise in RF radio, fibre optic and telemetry networks.
- Ensuring optimal performance and reliability of equipment and tools to maximize return on assets.
- Maintaining a thorough understanding of all task instructions and procedures, ensuring consistent adherence during maintenance tasks.
- Executing communication plans
- Completing all administrative processing requirements related to maintenance duties.
- Demonstrating full compliance with OHS and Environmental Systems standards.
- RIW card (Rail Industry Workers Card)
- WiFi experience
- Fiber Optic
- UE installations (mobile device, such as a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or other type of wireless device that is used to access the network)
- 2-way radio troubleshooting and programming for digital radios - P25 and DMR Systems
- The need to provide their own PPE & tools including ladders, etc.
- Vehicle proximity systems.
- Citect SCADA systems.
- Schneider control systems.
- Satellite television/digital systems.
- Motorola TRBONET Digital Radio System.
- VHF and UHF communication systems (leaky feeder).
- IP Network planning and configuration
- Microwave and/or satellite communications links.
- Troubleshooting complex electronic circuits.
- Wattmeter's, Spectrum Analyzers, Vector Network Analyzers, OTDR's Fusion Splicers, Oscilloscopes and Multi-meters.
- Terminating, Cat5, RJ11, Coax, Fiber (Fuse on Connectors) and D-Shell Connectors.
- Cert III in Electronics and Communications or equivalent.
- Restricted Electrical Licence and Registered Cabler License (endorsed Co-axial, Fibre and structured cabling).
