Senior Director (Work Health and Safety)
Pay Rate: $163.26 Hour + Super
Contract Length: Until 18 October, 2024 (36.75 hour weeks)

The Senior Director, Work, Health and Safety (WHS) reports to the Executive Branch Manager, Work Health and Safety and is responsible for leading the Safety Assurance team and the development, implementation and maintenance of a safety strategy and work health and safety management system for the department. The Senior Director, WHS is a key position within the Directorate.
As an experienced safety professional, the Senior Director will take the lead on strategic development and delivery of essential actions to improve the Directorate’s and Industry Partners corporate and onsite construction safety maturity. Responsible for establishing and embedding a strong workplace safety culture, the Senior Director will provide leadership, direction and support within a matrix structure of corporate and project delivery health and safety professionals.
The Safety Assurance Team is responsible for:
• Implementing the MPC Work Health and Safety Management System.
• Implementing the Government’s Active Certification Policy on contracts managed by MPC and select Partner Directorates
• Promotion of safety both within the depaartment and within with Construction Industry. The operational environment includes a mix of occupations and workplaces including construction sites, contractors, customers and office-based workers.
