Our client is responsible for national security and military operations and plays a crucial role in safeguarding the country's interests. The department also manages strategic policy, intelligence, and international relations, working closely with allies to maintain regional stability. This departments mission is to advise on its digital network integration efforts to maximise interoperability across Land, Joint and Coalition interface boundaries and to meet critical information exchange requirements. The intent is to ensure that investments are integrated to maximise the operational functions of individual projects.
About the role/ Experience required:
The Software Engineer is required to design, build, test and deploy a new Metadata Catalogue for researchers using existing technologies available. The project requires highly skilled consulting services (NV2Cleared) that can seamlessly interact with our customer to deliver the required solutions.
Key duties and responsibilities
1 - Strong consulting skills (customer focussed) with customer and project team
2 - Requirements validation
3 - Technical design for Metadata Catalogue (Data modelling, assessing content, roles and rules, approval processes, post approval visibility)
4 - Customisations (Tailoring views, Reskinning, UI updates, deployment network customisations including access and authentication, front end modifications stored in its own code repository)
5 - Data Ingest Script Development.
6 - Produce Test Plans, Test Cases and Test Execution Report.
7 - Implementation Planning.
8 - Deployment of the Solution (Containerised Deployment (Docker) and Testing on target network, including backups, AD integration and logging, replication dependencies, service desk and ITSM integration).
9 - Development of Training Materials
10 - Presentation of Training Materials and Handover to users.
11 - Post Deployment Support (3 months / 60 working days) for Customisation, including; bug fixes, maintenance and minor enhancements - modifications to adapt to users once they start using the system)
What is on offer:
Contract terms: 14 April 2025 for 6 months, with 6 month extension (x3 available).
Security Requirements: Candidates require Australian citizenship along with an active NV2 security clearance. Candidates will need to be willing to undergo pre-employment checks which may include, ID and work rights, security clearance verification, and any other client requested checks.
