Infrastructure Engineers implement, manage and retire the infrastructure (including physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure) that supports digital services. Infrastructure Engineering Experts work to deliver quality outcomes, identify and drive innovation, manage and lead change, and have an active role in contributing to, and implementing the agency’s strategic direction. The Infrastructure Engineer capacity analyst will conduct a right sizing exercise for several IT infrastructure platforms and establish regular capacity right sizing review cycles to adjust the size and capacity of priority ICT environments
Key duties and responsibilities
The Specified Personnel will be responsible for providing the following deliverables including but not limited to:
• Identify, review, and measure existing capacity allocation and utilisation of priority ICT environments
• ICT capacity reporting and analysis
• Develop data collection or monitoring solutions to meet business requirements.
• Implement data collection methods across different platforms and technologies.
• Implement data collection feeds from other monitoring tools and configuration databases (Grafana, VROPS, Elastic, Prometheus, etc).
• Maintain IT system documentation.
• Lead or assist investigations or analysis into the capacity or performance of applications and systems
• Team mentoring and coaching of members including skills and knowledge transfer.
• Liaise with Platform teams/Development Teams/Project Teams to ensure that the appropriate capacity monitoring is implemented.
The specified personnel will also be responsible for producing the following deliverables, including but not limited to:
• ICT Capacity data, reports and recommendations,
• Documentation of system products, technical design and systems operation.
• Deployment plans, workflows, events, and sequence diagrams.
• Records of troubleshooting, production issues and incidents.
Technical skills
• ICT capacity identification/estimation. • Experience working with different teams and IT platforms to implement capacity monitoring. • Analysis into the capacity or performance of applications and systems • Experience in Monitoring Technologies. • Experience implementing data collection feeds from monitoring tools or configuration databases. Primary Technologies: JAVA, SQL, Grafana, VROPS, Elastic, Prometheus, LPAR2RRD
Contract: 12 Months contract with 2 X 12 Months contract extension
Security Required: Must have a Baseline security clearance
Location -ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, VIC and Hybrid Based -Flexible working arrangements will be considered for successful candidates in accordance with agency policies.
