Seeking a Senior Objectstar Development Expert with experience in developing and supporting Objectstar applications

Software Engineers have experience overseeing software development projects, writing optimised code, and provide technical leadership to a team of software engineers. They are responsible for the quality and functionality of the software produced by their team.
Objectstar Development Experts have technical expertise in code building, technical analysis, applications development, application integration and domain expertise, and skills in Objectstar migration. Objectstar Development Experts lead software development projects and provide technical leadership to their teams. They manage software planning, development, and construction activities, and evaluate and resolve complex issues within the development and production environments.
Objectstar Development Experts are responsible for the quality and functionality of software, ensuring adherence to relevant standards, guidelines, and methods for system development.
The role will involve having or the ability to gain knowledge of the departments software development lifecycle, tools, services, deployment procedures and cyber security policies as well as industry best practices. You will work closely with Software Architects, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Analysts and Testers with the shared purpose of building simple, helpful, respectful and transparent services for everyday Australians.
Key duties and responsibilities
ObjectStar, COBOL, JCL Extensive experience in developing Objectstar applications, production batch process support experience
Contract: 12 Months contract with 2 X 12 Months contract extension
Security Required: Must have a Baseline Security Clearance - NV1 is preferred
Location -ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, VIC and Hybrid Based -Flexible working arrangements will be considered for successful candidates in accordance with agency policies.

Key duties and responsibilities
- Duties may include some or all of the following:
- Developing and supporting Objectstar applications
- Support Objectstar data migration project and subsequently application code transformation
- lead and create software and technical designs for the realisation of highly complex development solutions
- develop strategy to ensure high quality code and long-term maintenance of a product's code base
- provide specialist technical advice on software development and maintenance
- lead the release and ensure go-live production support and maintenance for the team’s developments
- lead analysis, design, software development, prototyping, unit testing and maintenance activities
- review and undertake high-level analysis of technical requirements to support project evaluation with proposed solutions
- ensure compliance with endorsed software development methodologies
- investigate and resolve highly complex ICT issues
- lead a positive risk management culture
- engage and manage stakeholder relationships and partner with other agencies and service providers to build service delivery capability
- contribute to business and strategic workforce planning, and drive the development of local strategies to improve key performance measures
- manage business objectives and implement strategic priorities to achieve outcomes
- lead the development and delivery of projects within the assigned area of responsibility
