The Role:
The Department is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to manage and improve our system infrastructure including on-premises server and storage systems, multi-cloud infrastructure, Office 365 applications, the Departments standard operating environments, and end user device management.
The Infrastructure Engineer will work within the program and will assist the team to deliver positive outcomes for the program relating to the management and development of the Departments infrastructure and systems.
Key duties and responsibilities
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Dedication to delivering a secure, always-on customer identity platform with an understanding of Application Insights, Log Analytics, Azure App Services, Azure API Management. Expertise in Azure AD B2C with proven experience in designing, developing, testing, implementing, and integrating B2C tenants and solutions. Azure Identity - B2C skills needed 3 to 5 years experience
2. Proven experience in designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining Azure AD B2C User Flows and Custom Policies.
3. Proven ability to identify, analyse and resolve system design weaknesses, troubleshoot and manage the resolution of issues related identities, systems, access, accounts, authentication, authorization, entitlements, and permissions. Experience with GIT version control and common branching strategies.
4. Proven experience in designing reusable strategies, decisions, service components, libraries and frameworks to support enterprise-level IAM services. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to engage with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including non-technical senior managers.
5. Proven ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams of business, technology, external suppliers and other subject-matter experts. Cultural fit: Ability to work with geographically dispersed teams Ability to work with technical and non-technical staff at all levels. Ability to collaborate and mentor team members to promote team harmony
6. Ability to support 24/7 coverage (rotational or as needed on-call support).
Location and Contract Term: This role is based in ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, VIC, WA. Contract till 31 December 2025 with 2 x 12-month extension option pending budget and delegate approval. Hybrid working arrangements will be considered
Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens. A baseline security clearance is required.

The Infrastructure Engineer will work within the program and will assist the team to deliver positive outcomes for the program relating to the management and development of the Departments infrastructure and systems.

- Work effectively across teams to provide systems expertise to enhance and improve existing solutions, including designing, developing, implementing, and testing solutions, in line with business requirements and software development standards.
- Work collaboratively with other teams to investigate and resolve complex issues with the operation of infrastructure and infrastructure as code.
- Ensure deadlines are consistently met and that a high standard of technical and design documentation is provided.
- Define, develop and document the existing automation technologies to enhance the system’s build, test and deployment capabilities.
- Assist the application development teams with the development and maintenance of DevOps continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) pipelines.
- Work as part of an Agile Delivery Teams or the System Team
- Perform additional duties or assume responsibility of functions as required
