In this contractor role, the successful candidate will contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of network systems, ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of government IT infrastructure.
Desirable Skills:
• Strong experience Cisco based networking technologies – routing/switching and network security, voice and video technologies and ACI
Demonstrated experience commensurate with the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) 5 or above.
Contract: 12 Months Contract with 2 x 12 months extension options
Security Required: Must be able to obtain NV2 - NV2 Desirable
Location - Canberra based

In this contractor role, the successful candidate will contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of network systems, ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of government IT infrastructure.
Desirable Skills:
• Strong experience Cisco based networking technologies – routing/switching and network security, voice and video technologies and ACI
- Experience working with government agencies or in highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of Australian Government IT policies, standards, and frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud networking solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Support: Provide expert-level support for network troubleshooting, issue resolution, and root cause analysis. Address complex network performance issues promptly and effectively.
- Security: Ensure the integrity, security and privacy of network systems by implementing and maintaining appropriate protocols and controls in line with government policies and regulations.
- Documentation and Reporting: Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation for network architectures, configurations, and processes. Prepare regular reporting and provide advice to stakeholders.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with other IT teams, including systems administrators, cybersecurity specialists, and software developers, to ensure seamless integration of network systems with other infrastructure components.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in network engineering. Provide recommendations for improvements to network performance, reliability, and security.
- Compliance: Ensure all network solutions comply with Australian Government standards, regulations, and frameworks, including cybersecurity and risk management guidelines.
