Our client provides advice to inform budget decision-making; manages the principal financial assets and liabilities, identifies opportunities for economic reform & monitors and forecasts the economy, advises on performance and financial management policies and supports the development of policy advice and implementation of programs focused on energy, climate-change mitigation and adaptation, and the transformation to a new low-cost, clean-energy economy.
About The Role:
As a Senior Advisor – Risk, you will work with stakeholders as the primary point of contact for key risk projects. You will provide analysis and reports on the key projects in line with the clients’ risk management and compliance frameworks.
The role entails extensive stakeholder management with a diverse range of leaders, preparing dashboards and other presentations for senior management, application of technical expertise.
You’ll play a pivotal role in the identification, assessment, and mitigation of strategic, operational and project risk as well as contributing to the development, promotion, delivery, evaluation and reporting on compliance programs.

About The Role:

You’ll play a pivotal role in the identification, assessment, and mitigation of strategic, operational and project risk as well as contributing to the development, promotion, delivery, evaluation and reporting on compliance programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate risk projects and ensure they align with the enterprise risk management framework. The focus will be on strategic and operational risk management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Work closely to ensure the risk management and compliance frameworks are fit for purpose, support decision making and the achievement of strategic goals
- Further develop and implement effective risk management processes - including risk and control assessment, key risk indicator monitoring and reporting, risk event management and ensure that staff have the appropriate tools, templates, techniques, and business partner support to implement effective risk management.
- Provide analysis, monitor, and report on risk and compliance project to ensure these projects are meeting objectives
- Prepare and present reporting, including dashboards to stakeholders including senior leaders across business, with the risks identified in a succinct and coherent manner
- Assess compliance with the clients’ policies and procedures and ensure strong and transparent management accountability
- Maintain and further develop the risk, compliance, and assurance software system (Protecht) including register design and reporting.
The Successful Candidate:
- Addressing and resolving complex problems, issues and challenges associated with risk management and compliance, including developing appropriate solutions and interventions in an environment where there is a lack of precedent
- Influencing and driving improvements in all areas of governance, risk management, compliance, and internal audit in a regulated and technical environment
- Understanding a diverse range of business functions to devise measures to integrate with both legislative requirements and the delivery of strategic Government policy initiatives by NSW Treasury
- Delivering multiple project support activities in line with agreed standards and objectives, given tight deadlines and competing demands and priorities
- Interpreting and ensuring the correct application of internal policies and procedures
