About the Role
We are seeking several TSPV-cleared Service Desk Technicians. The role involves supporting end users of IT systems and services, often being the first point of contact to assist users and other support staff in resolving issues. Key responsibilities include:
• ICT stores management, including stocktake activities and moving bulky items.
• Installation of ICT endpoint devices and establishing network connections.
• Using deployment technologies to install operating systems and applications.
• Network configuration and connection tasks.
• Preparation of endpoint devices for shipment, sanitisation, and disposal.
• Troubleshooting issues with ICT endpoint devices.
• Maintaining incident and problem management records.
• Transferring technical knowledge through documentation and mentoring other staff.
The Successful Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess:
• Proficiency in deployment methodologies and network switch configuration.
• Ability to install, repair, and maintain standard and bespoke desktop systems.
• Specialist advice capability on network and connectivity of systems.
• Experience in routine installations and de-installations of hardware/software.
• Skills in network configuration, installation, and maintenance.
• Ability to identify, register, and categorise incidents following agreed procedures.
• Strong communication skills to act as the routine contact point for support requests.
What is on Offer
• Location: Canberra, ACT
• Duration: 12 months with 2x 12-month extension options
• Working Arrangements: 5 days a week, up to 40 hours per week, with potential for flexible working arrangements.
• Security Clearance: Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) required.
• Commencement Date: Dependent on the successful outcome of the OSA and recruitment lead time, approximately 3 months.
SFIA level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 4.
Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred, however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered.
