Our private sector client is seeking a WHS Coordinator to play a key role in building a strong safety culture while developing and delivering initiatives to improve safety for all staff and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement WHS programs
- Conduct risk assessments and manage injury cases
- Implement new policies and procedures
- Write reports, policies, and procedures (SOPs) for health and safety
Skills:
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal and motivational skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus
- Innovative and strategic thinking skills with the ability to see and suggest ways to continually improve and a positive approach to change
- Conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge of and ability to interpret legislation, rules and regulations as they relate to Work Health and Safety
Certifications and Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health & Safety Technologist (OHST) are highly advantageous
- A qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. WHS, Quality Management Systems)
Experience:
- Demonstrated WHS experience within a complex organisation with high-risk areas
- Experience in writing reports, policies and procedures
- Familiarity with quality systems
- Experience in risk management roles
