The Role:
The Department is seeking to engage six experienced Cloud Engineers to deploy, configure and operate cloud infrastructure including properly configuring numerous computing, networking and security service
Primary Duties:
• Manage and administer our hybrid cloud environments, including provisioning, configuration, performance monitoring, policy governance and security • Design, develop, and implement highly available, multi-tenant solutions within our environment • Analise existing operational standards, processes, and/or governance to identify and implement improvements • Migrate existing infrastructure services to cloud-based solutions • Manage security and access controls of cloud-based solutions • Develop infrastructure as code leveraging cloud native tooling to ensure automated and consistent platform deployments • Develop and implement policy driven data protection best practices to ensure cloud solutions are protected from data loss • Support cloud adoption of applications as they are being transformed and/or modernised • Ensure all infrastructure components meet proper performance and capacity standards
Skills and Experience Required: • Minimum three years of Cloud experience involving design, deployment, configuration and optimisation • Several years of experience with IaaS and PaaS solutions • Experience in the design and operation of medium to large scale enterprise infrastructure, databases and application systems • Experience in IaC development such as Terraform, Ansible ,AWS CDK, Azure ARM, and Kubernetes • Experience scripting with Perl, Python and PowerShell • Proficient with GIT to perform source code management • Competence in a wide range of IT skills including backups, storage, systems administration, data protection, information security and CI/CD tooling • Enthusiastic learner with the ability to teach and mentor teammates • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to detail
Location and Contract Term: This role is based in ACT. 12 month contract.
Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens. A Baseline (or higher) security clearance is required for this role.
