Seeking a Cloud Engineer with experience with IaaS and PaaS solutions
Role Description
The Department is seeking to engage two experienced Cloud Engineers that will be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and securing cloud infrastructure,
resolving issues, ensuring high availability, implementing disaster recovery plans, designing scalable solutions and collaborating on cloud architecture and migration strategies.
Key responsibilities including but not limited to:
• maintain and monitor cloud infrastructure for high availability, reliability, and performance
• proactively resolve issues, perform maintenance, and ensure security compliance
• implement access controls, encryption, backups, and disaster recovery plans
• respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and document resolutions
• design scalable and secure cloud solutions based on business needs
• collaborate on cloud architecture and strategy
• plan and execute cloud migration strategies
Required Skills and Experience
• Minimum three years of Cloud experience involving design, deployment, configuration and optimisation
• Several years of experience with IaaS and PaaS solutions
• Experience in the design and operation of medium to large scale enterprise infrastructure, databases and application systems
• Experience in IaC development such as Terraform, Ansible ,AWS CDK, Azure ARM, and Kubernetes
• Experience scripting with Perl, Python and PowerShell
• Proficient with GIT to perform source code management
• Competence in a wide range of IT skills including backups, storage, systems administration, data protection, information security and CI/CD tooling
• Enthusiastic learner with the ability to teach and mentor teammates
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to detail
Initial contract duration: 12 months with 2 x 12 months extension options
Location of work & working arrangements - Canberra - Hybrid Based
Security Clearance - Must have a Baseline, NV1, NV2, TSPV Security Clearance, TSPV highly desirable.
