Our client is a well known and prestigious multinational consultancy who is working with a Federal Government end client on a highly impactful project benefiting the Australian people.
About the role:
We are seeking a skilled Performance Architect Engineer to design, develop, and optimize application and system performance. This role involves identifying bottlenecks, implementing scalable solutions, and ensuring reliability through performance testing, monitoring, and optimization strategies. The ideal candidate will have expertise in performance engineering tools, cloud infrastructure, containerization, and programming languages, along with strong analytical and collaboration skills. Additional experience in machine learning, DevOps, and compliance frameworks is desirable. With a focus on aligning with industry best practices, this role is critical for enhancing system efficiency and meeting organizational standards.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Design and develop performance optimization solutions for applications and systems.
- Collaborate with teams to identify and address performance bottlenecks.
- Develop and maintain performance testing frameworks, scripts, and tools.
- Conduct performance testing, monitoring, and analysis to identify improvement areas.
- Implement optimization strategies, including caching, CDNs, and load balancing.
- Integrate performance considerations into the development process.
- Maintain performance metrics, dashboards, and reports to track system performance.
- Ensure optimization solutions are properly deployed and monitored with operations teams.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging performance engineering technologies.
- Participate in code reviews to align solutions with industry best practices and standards.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in performance engineering, architecture, and software development.
- Proficiency in performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling, NeoLoad).
- Experience with performance monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, AppDynamics, Datadog).
- Knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Expertise in containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript).
- Experience with Agile methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of performance engineering principles, practices, and standards.
- Experience in process improvement and system implementation.
- Certification in performance engineering (e.g., CPE, CAPE) is a plus.
- Experience with machine learning and AI concepts.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet).
- Familiarity with IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
- Experience with security and compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
- Certification in software development (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, Azure Developer Associate).
