Project Support Officer
About our client:
Our client is a caring and reputable state Government department with many community projects and social engagements helping make NSW the great state it is today.
About the role:
The role is to provide support to the Project Team in delivering a social housing program of work with a tight deadline. The client is looking for candidates who preferably have a history working within Government and are ready to hit the ground running.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Assist Snr. PM/PO on planning, execution, and delivery of the program package(s).
• Assist Snr. PM/PO manage project scope, time, cost, quality, risk, and procurement to achieve project objectives.
• Liaise with all internal & external stakeholders and support the delivery of the assigned packages.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including consultants such as PMs, cost, procurement consultants, architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Monitor & report project progress, identify & report potential risks to implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Assist Snr. PM/PO on planning, updating, tracking, and reporting of budgets and forecasts related to the work packages.
• Foster strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project team members.
• Provide regular project updates and reports.
• Visit project sites 1-2 times a month for progress inspection, site and/or community meetings.
The successful candidate:
This contract is available for an initial 6 month term with likely extension options.
Located in Sydney, this role offers a hybrid working arrangement.

The successful candidate:
- Be from a construction/civil engineering background and hold the relevant qualifications
- Have worked in a Government environment or in supporting Government projects
- Previous experience dealing with multiple projects at varying degrees of completion whilst adhering to a strict deadline
- Excellent communication skills in order to engage effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Be able to travel intermittently as required. (Client will cover all travel expenses)
- Hold knowledge and experience in dealing with vulnerable or disadvantaged stakeholders.
