About the role:
As a Sr Full Stack developer at The Department you will be involved in design, development, testing (unit and automation), implementation and maintenance of software solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for full stack development and support of customized software solutions. The culture within the team recognizes individuality yet encourages collaboration.
You will be hands-on and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including BAU team and Product Team to drive the development and enhancement of the products. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about technology, has strong analytical and communication skills, and is eager to transform, modernise and future proof the applications.

Located in Parramatta, this role offers a hybrid working arrangement.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Designing and developing robust, scalable, and secure applications.
- Responsible for all stages of the software development process to ensure compliance with application development standards and achievement of documented requirements.
- Building scalable, high-quality code using established practices.
- Building responsive and accessible user interfaces.
- Contributing to the continuous process improvements in the development space.
- Conduct code reviews, performance optimizations, and troubleshooting to maintain high-quality software solutions. Participating in and technical documentation.
- Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, managing multiple priorities within tight time frames.
- Over 5 years of experience in full-stack development with exposure to a modern web framework such as Angular / Angular JS
- Proficiency in Java, Spring framework, Hibernate, AWS.
- Proficient understanding of JavaScript with strong comprehension of
- Typescript, Angular, NodeJs, NPM.
- Knowledge of application servers (Jetty, Tomcat) and integration technologies (Apache Camel, Spring Integration) and Spring Security.
- Experience in developing and integrations with REST-based services.
- Solid experience in using Amazon Web Services such as S3, EC2, API
- Experience with SQL databases like Oracle or MySQL or MSSQL, database
- Good to have Experience with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.
- Desirable to have experience on using tools like Bitbucket, Bamboo and Postman.
- Good communication skills with the ability to interpret business requirements and technical concepts.
