Overview:
The Systems Architect will work with users, business and technical project team members, and decision makers to deliver architectural solutions that support complex ICT transformation efforts and long term technology intents.
Major responsibilities:
Security Requirements: To be eligible, you must be an Australian Citizen and hold current TSPV security clearance OR have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded). Candidates with a current Defence Intelligence Agency recognised Psychological Assessment (PA) preferred but not essential.
SFIA security level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 5.

The Systems Architect will work with users, business and technical project team members, and decision makers to deliver architectural solutions that support complex ICT transformation efforts and long term technology intents.
Major responsibilities:
- Apply technical and professional knowledge and expertise of systems architectural and engineering processes to set the architectural direction, generate engineering artefacts, and implement project capability deliverables applied within an agile software delivery environment.
- Provide architectural and engineering solutions that demonstrate awareness of dependencies and the need to collaborate and integrate with domestic and international partner agencies and strategic industry partners.
- Contribute to the continuous business improvement process for the project office, the delivery teams and the organisational workforce.
- Contribute to work package and external contract development including identification of approval and verification gates.
- Contribute to and review internally and externally developed test plans and procedures to ensure integration with requirements and verification processes.
- Contribute to the system Transition to Operations and Sustainment planning and support process development.
- Use data modelling and visualisation techniques to determine current and forecast future system computational, storage, and communications capacity needs, and determine the solution options that will meet those needs.
- Work with the project team and external ICT service providers to design and deliver realisable, affordable, scalable, resilient and supportable capability solutions that meet organisational objectives and agreed requirements.
- Qualifications and experience with frameworks and methodologies for designing, planning, implementing, and governing enterprise and system information technology architectures.
- Qualifications and experience with system engineering principles and practices.
- Experience working with a major Defence ICT project PMO.
- Extensive experience with and knowledge of the features and limitations of the Defence and Intelligence ICT environments.
- Experience in requirements development, acceptance test definitions and delivery aspects of complex ICT projects.
