- Technical team lead role overseeing a nationally visible platform.
- An opportunity to come in at the ground floor of a new exciting new Machine Learning Function.
- Extensive experience within the AWS ecosystem and strong Kubernetes skills are required.
- 8+8 month contract.
- Oversee the operational support of DEA’s digital platforms, with a strong presence in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Be accountable for managing the DEA’s adherence to Government security frameworks such as the ISM, PSPF, and E8.
- Lead the implementation of a new ML Ops environment, with the assistance of in-house ML experts and Data Scientists.
- Uplift our Kubernetes infrastructure.
- Deliver project outcomes against the DEA’s Program Roadmap.
- Actively contribute to DEA’s strategic direction and development of ICT services supporting its core business, including identification of areas for streamlining, improvement for greater efficiency and implementation of new and emerging technologies.
- Oversee a small team of engineers and developers in an Agile and cross-disciplinary environment.
- Experience providing technical leadership.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principals, preferably within Terraform or CloudFormation
- Strong understanding of Cloud computing concepts.
- Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and common security practices.
- Experience in utilising monitoring and logging tools, CloudWatch, CloudTrail.
- Strong understanding of Service Orchestration and Service Discovery, Kubernetes.
- Unix-based shell scripting.
- Experience with Python scripting and serverless workloads, AWS Lambda.
- GitOps & DevOps using Atlassian and Microsoft/Github products.
- Experience managing SDLC using Agile methodology and supporting tools (e.g., Jira).
- Experience using common scripting and mark-up languages, YAML, JSON, Markdown, PlantUML.
