Seeking a Senior Software Engineer / Developer to have experience overseeing software development projects, writing optimised code, and provide technical leadership to a team of software engineers.
They are responsible for the quality and functionality of the software produced by their team.
Software Engineers are also known as Developers.
The Development Expert role is required to design, create, test and document new and amended software components from supplied specifications in accordance with agreed development and security standards and processes. Development Experts engage in the design and the development of high-quality solutions in support of business and technical requirements. The role solves highly complex problems. Development Experts exercise a considerable degree of independence and undertake a technical leadership role, with work performed under the general guidance of senior staff.
Key duties and responsibilities Duties may include some or all of the following:
(a) Design and develop ICT solutions spanning web/desktop applications, web services, and batch jobs built using C#, Microsoft .NET framework and SQL Server.
(b) Translation of business needs into ICT system requirements and specifications for enhancements to one or more of the following bespoke Department of Social Services (DSS) Microsoft .NET applications and corporate applications including Staff Administration, Data Exchange (DEX), Identity Manager (IDM), Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS) Administration, Application Manager (Toolbox Services), Toolbox Common, ARC (Content Manager) Support Suite, and Rehabilitation Management System (Dynamics CRM).
(c) Technical analysis, design, prototyping, and maintenance activities of Microsoft .NET or Identity and Access Management solutions.
(d) Analyse and identify functional/business shortcomings in the software and effectively communicate with the team.
(e) Stay up to date with the newest technologies and security measures to keep web applications at the latest standard
Technical skills 1. Experience in Solution Design and development of Microsoft .Net or custom Identity and Access Management solutions. 2. Proven ability to deliver quality system solutions within an ICT project environment across web/desktop, web services, and batch jobs. 3. Experience with the Microsoft technology stack (Microsoft .NET, SQL Server, Azure, PowerShell). 4. Experience with C#, PowerShell or scripting languages to provision users and integrate with Identity and Access management solutions.
Initial contract duration: 12 months with 2 x 12 months extension options
Location of work & working arrangements - ACT, VIC, QLD - Hybrid Based
Security Clearance - Must have a Baseline Security Clearance
