About the role:
The Business Transformation Consultant will drive the development and support of a big data platform, acting as a critical bridge between business stakeholders, architects, designers, and the delivery team. Responsibilities include translating business requirements into actionable deliverables, ensuring solutions meet quality standards, and collaborating on both functional and non-functional requirements. This role requires over 10 years of experience as a technical Business Analyst, strong skills in data mapping, SQL, data modelling, and big data application architecture, as well as expertise in Agile methodologies. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, alongside the ability to adapt in dynamic environments.

Mandatory Requirements
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, process owners, and users to capture and refine service/product requirements.
- Partner with solution architects and designers to translate business needs into actionable epics, features, and stories for the delivery team.
- Ensure alignment on Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) with stakeholders and external parties to meet standards and system quality requirements.
- Act as a liaison between client stakeholders, project managers, architects, developers, and testers, fostering clear communication and alignment.
- Support product and technology stakeholder management by understanding divisional and group objectives.
- Balance quality, benefits, risk, budget, and time-to-market considerations, articulating trade-offs to stakeholders.
- Actively support the team by helping project managers resolve impediments and lead by example.
- Mentor junior consultants on best practices in client engagements.
Required Professional and Technical Expertise
- Experience: 10+ years as a technical Business Analyst, ideally within IT consulting or tech-focused business units.
- Domain Expertise: Solid IT Business Analyst experience in enterprise/big data projects, combining technical and functional insight.
- Data Mapping: Skilled in designing data flows from source to target systems, including business rules, data transformations, and reporting needs.
- Database Knowledge: Strong understanding of traditional databases, modeling concepts, referential integrity, and entity-relationship modeling.
- Data Pipeline Development: Experience in building complex ETL/ELT pipelines with business teams.
- SQL Proficiency: Advanced SQL skills for querying and analyzing data across diverse sources.
- Data Modelling and Engineering: Familiarity with data modeling methodologies and data engineering concepts.
- Big Data Architecture: Knowledgeable in big data applications and architecture.
- Agile Methodologies: Extensive experience in Agile environments (Scaled Agile, Distributed Agile, Sprints, Kanban, Waterfall).
- Stakeholder and Team Collaboration: Exceptional communication, people, and stakeholder management skills; thrive in dynamic environments.
- Project Documentation: Ability to formalize requirements into specification documents, epics, and stories.
- Additional Skills: Knowledge of project management (planning, budgeting, scheduling, performance management) is a plus.
- Cloud and Data Platforms: Experience with Azure, AWS, GCP, IBM, and other modern data platforms.
- Infrastructure: Familiarity with containerization, virtualization, networking, and SLAs for high-availability and fault-tolerant services.
- Development Life Cycle: Solid understanding of software development methodologies and life cycles.
- Certification: Possession of one or more industry-recognized technology certifications or badges is preferred.
